Peter Kispert is a writer and editor based in New York City. He recently worked as an editorial assistant at Penguin Random House, where he received a Random Recognition Award, and as the editor-in-chief of Indiana Review, where he founded the annual Blue Light Books partnership with Indiana University Press. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in OUT Magazine, Esquire, Salon.com, Slice Magazine, Tin House online, The Journal, The Carolina Quarterly, Colorado Review, McSweeney’s, The New York Daily News, and has been cited in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, NPR, and Urban Outfitters. Peter has served as an editorial assistant with Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, written content for Narrative Magazine, covered publishing industry news at Ploughshares, and twice interned with the brilliant Erin Harris of Folio Literary Management. He is a graduate of the Columbia University Publishing Course and Indiana University’s MFA program, where he was an Ernest Hemingway Fellow, awarded the Guy Lemmon Award for Public Writing, and designed and taught fiction writing workshops to undergraduates. He lives in Manhattan.
